On 20 June 2015, Armenians from various parts of Romania went to Gherla city (county of Cluj) to attend the great feast of Saint Gregory the Enlightener. The local community welcomed, as every year, the guests from Cluj-Napoca, Bacau, Roman, Botosani, Bucuresti, Constanta, Iasi, Gheorgheni, Dumbraveni, Odorheiu Secuiesc.
On the occasion of the great Armenian feast, His Eminence Gyorgy Jakubinyi, Roman Catholic Archbishop of Alba Iulia and Apostolic Administrator of the Catholic Armenians of Romania chaired the Divine Liturgy at noon. Started on a rainy weather, the celebration was finished on a very fine weather. There followed the launching of two books: a new volume of the monograph “Gherla – Free Royal City”, written more than one century ago by Kristof Szongott, translated into Romanian by Andreea Ghita, Andreea Marza, Annamaria Nastasa-Kovacs, supervised by Lucian Nastasa Kovacs and published by Ararat publishing house, and the “Whispers’ Book” by Varujan Vosganian, translated into Romanian and Hungarian.
     Then, the guests and hosts participated in a traditional dinner, with Armenian dishes.
     To end with, an exhibition of photographs of the 20th district of Pesterzsebet of Budapest was opened at the headquarters of the Armenians’ Union of Romania, occasioned by the visit of a delegation from Hungary, with whom the Catholic Armenians wish to have closer friendly relations.
