Az Aranyosbeszterce nyugati partján levő részt 1896-ban csatolták Bukovinából Erdélyhez. Lakói a 18. századtól német telepesek voltak. Mailáth püspök 1900-ban templomot építtetett, plébániát szervezett és ferences papot küldött nekik. 1913-tól egyházmegyés papot kaptak Kapcza József személyében, aki 1915-ben orosz fogságba került. 1922-ig bukovinai német, majd erdélyi papok látták el. 1944-től 7 évig Óradna látta el. Jelenleg ideiglenesen jászvásári egyházmegyés papok látják el, de az anyanyelvükön való misézést (német, magyar) nem biztosítják. Katolikus iskola volt 1921-től német tanítási nyelvvel. Jelen pillanatban a településen 94 katolikus család él. A plébánia archívumában csak 1949-től találhatók iratok.
