Nekünk, keresztényeknek sokszor az a bénaságunk, hogy nem éljük meg hitünket a maga teljességében, csak félénken, felszínesen, ímmel-ámmal, csak a sekrestyében vagyunk keresztények. Ha felismerjük, és gyógyulni akarunk ebből a betegségből, bűnből, szükségünk van Isten kegyelmére, gyógyítására. A béna fogta ágyát, és Istent magasztalva hazament. Ma is megtörténik ez a csodadolog velünk is, ha Isten közelébe kerülünk.
