Szívszorító, amikor kisgyereket látunk sírni, és mennyire megnyugszik, amikor a szülő, vagy valaki letörli a szeméről a könnyeket, megvigasztalja. Ilyenkor megnyugszik, mert tudja, nincs egyedül. Adventi időnk egyik szép vigasztalása, amikor Jeremiás próféta biztosít minket, hogy "Az Úr letörli a könnyet minden arcról". "Sajnálom a népet" mondja Jézus, kifejezve Isten gyöngédségét, aki testté lett a betlehemi éjszakán, és részese lett emberi életünknek.
