În duminica treia din Advent liturghia noastră ne îndeamnă la bucurie, folosind cuvintele Sfântului apostol Paul: „Bucurați-vă mereu în Domnul! Iarăși vă spun: bucurați-vă, Domnul este aproape!” (Fil 4,4-5). Să permitem inimii noastre să se umple de bucurie, deoarece filozoful german Friedrich Nietzsche spune: „Cine are multe bucurii, acela trebuie să fie om bun”. Într-adevăr, când omul nu are parte de bucurii, când este trist, când îi lipsește voia bună, când nu este iubit, când este provocat, atunci e capabil de orice păcat, deoarece lipsa bucuriei este „ascunzișul celui rău”. Citându-l pe Don Orion (+1940), preotul săracilor, să spunem: „Afară cu păcatul și amărăciunea din casa mea!”.
