Életének 63. évében a székelyudvarhelyi Pastor Bonus Papi Otthonban meghalt Kiss István betegnyugdíjas lelkipásztor. Temetése február 13-án, szerdán 11 órakor kezdődik a székelyudvarhelyi Szent Miklós-plébániatemplomban, a lelki üdvéért bemutatott szentmisével.

Kiss István 1956. március 23-án született a Beszterce-Naszód megyei Vicén. Középiskolai és teológiai tanulmányait Gyulafehérváron a kántoriskolában, valamint a Hittudományi Főiskolán végezte. 1982. június 20-án szentelte pappá Jakab Antal püspök. Szolgálati helyei: Tür (1982–1983), Lupény (1983–1985), Zetelaka (1985–1987), Korond (1987–1990), Atyha (1990–1993).

1993-tól 2000-ig betegállományban élt a csíksomlyói ferences kolostorban, majd Csobotfalván és Csíkcsomortánban szolgált kisegítő lelkipásztorként 2004-ig, amikor betegnyugdíjasként a Pastor Bonus Papi Otthonba vonult vissza.
