Daily meditations From the first Sunday of Advent, through all of this period, sharing their thoughts, our superiors help us prepare to meet the baby Jesus in Bethlehem on Christmas Eve. May it help and enrich us spiritually.

Taking into consideration the problems concerning the Roman-Catholic Theological High School in Târgu Mureș, the Roman Catholic Status Foundation from Transylvania has looked at the specifics of the contract concluded with the Municipality of Târgu Mureș and found that they were not complied with the provisions of Art. 23, therefore it terminates the contract.  

We strongly urge not to consider that this situation has been resolved. As we have expressed repeatedly, the Catholic school must operate in the building, which is owned by the Roman Catholic Church. If this is not possible, then the lease signed with the local authorities shall lose its validity, which may not be in anyone's interest.

Our Holy Mother Church usually does not seek justice in the street or squares, but rather in her churches and – if necessary – in court. In the present situation, the Roman-Catholic Status Foundation of Transylvania is again in the situation to seek justice in the street, to rise her voice for justice, to step up for justice by organizing an awareness campaign. 

One does not seek justice in the street, but if we do that, then there is a good reason for it – said dr. Holló László, university professor in Cluj, Chief Executive Officer of the Roman-Catholic Status, in his speech delivered at the rally supporting the Roman-Catholic High School and its principal dr. Tamási Zsolt József. The event was held today, November 12, Saturday afternoon in the center of Târgu Mureș.

I pray for him to pass over these events and to be able to continue his work – forcibly interrupted – with the enthusiasm and involvement that characterize him” – said Oláh Dénes, archdeacon and parish priest of Târgu Mureș, for the Catholic weekly Vasárnap.

Jubilee in Romania of the Malteser Relief Service   Maltese Relief Service in Romania celebrated 25 years of existence in Cluj. The anniversary event on 22 October 2016 began at St. Michael's Church in the city center, with Mass concelebrated by priests from the area and those involved in the Relief Service and chaired by His Eminence Archbishop of Alba Iulia Jakubinyi György. 

Preparations in Alba Iulia for Moving the Earthly Remains of Márton Áron    With the prior approval of the Holy See, a committee of 17 people has opened on September 1 the grave of the Servant of God, Bishop Márton Áron, located in the crypt of the Cathedral of Alba Iulia. The remains of the great bishop, who passed away on September 29, 1980, were deposited on October 4, 1980 in the pantheon of the great hierarchs from Transylvania.

The Southern Tower of the Cathedral in Alba Iulia Was Restored   The project for Revitalization and improving public access to the southern tower of the Medieval Roman Catholic Cathedral in Alba Iulia has been successfully concluded by the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Alba Iulia. Its results were presented to the guests and the public on April 14.  

Archbishop Jakubinyi György participated in the ceremony On the evening of Sunday, 15 November, the Archbishop of Alba Iulia and Cibian Miklós, the pastor of Hungarians in France, have concelebrated in the remembrance Mass for the victims of the terrorist attacks on Friday night, presided over by the Archbishop of Paris, Cardinal Andre Vingt-Trois. 

The Archdiocese will submit an appeal against the verdict The Restitution Commission operating in subordination of Romania's Government dismissed the restitution of the Batthyaneum Library and Astronomical Observatory in Alba Iulia to the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Alba Iulia. The decision of the Commission was taken on 16 September, but the Archdiocese was notified only recently.

Graduation ceremony at Târgu Mureș 25 lay ecclesial ministers, 15 of which future acolytes, received their diplomas on October 17, 2015, at the parish church St. John the Baptist in Târgu Mureș, during a Holy Mass of Thanksgiving. This festive moment was the conclusion of a training cycle on archdiocesan level for ecclesial ministers.

Caritas Alba Iulia celebrated 25 years of existence   The archdiocesan organization which coordinates the charitable activities gave thanks to God, on Sunday, October 4, in the city of residence of the archbishopric, for the 25 years which passed from its establishment.   

On 20 June 2015, Armenians from various parts of Romania went to Gherla city (county of Cluj) to attend the great feast of Saint Gregory the Enlightener. The local community welcomed, as every year, the guests from Cluj-Napoca, Bacau, Roman, Botosani, Bucuresti, Constanta, Iasi, Gheorgheni, Dumbraveni, Odorheiu Secuiesc.
