1325-ben említik először oklevelekben. 1333-ban plébániatemploma volt. Középkori temploma ma is áll a 15. századi átalakításokkal. A templom unitárius kézre került a reformáció idején. 1500-ból származó haranggal rendelkezik. A katolikusok 1714-ben kaptak egy kápolnát, Horváth Zsigmond és neje, Apor Borbála adományából. A protestánsok 1776-ban megrongálták. 1784-ben plébánia létesült. 1826-ban építették a plébániatemplomot. Katolikus iskolája volt 1860-tól, melyet 1948-ban államosítottak, és még nem adtak vissza.
