1325-ben Ocember, seu Aranyosbánya néven írják. Mária tiszteletére szentelt temploma volt: Eccl. Beatae Mariae Virginis de Monte Fornacis.
1660–66-ban tatárbetörés pusztítja el a gótikus templomot.
1775-től van újra katolikus kápolna és plébánia, majd 1787-től modern kőtemplom.
