1333-ban a pápai tizedjegyzék de Sancta Cruce néven említi a települést. Első templomának építésének időpontja a feltárt sírok alapján a 11–12. századra tehető. A jelenlegi plébánia épülete 1909-ben épült. 1868-tól van katolikus iskolája, amit 1948-ban államosítottak. 2000-ben az egyházközség visszakapta, s az épületet átalakították kántori lakássá. 1997–98-ban a plébánia épületéhez hozzátoldva felépül a Kolping-ház, jelenleg Tertulianus Tanulmányi Ház.
